Surround Yourself with Positive People

Being a young entrepreneur can be very stressful and working can take up a lot of your time, it’s so important to surround yourself with positive and happy people. Negative people can drag you down the wrong path, which is not a route to go down. To encourage yourself to keep doing what you’re doing and working towards the next achievement you need to be positive.

When starting up I received a lot of negativity. Some people didn’t believe that I would be able to achieve my business without qualifications, teachers at school would always say “forget about that, you need your grades” But I knew what I wanted and ignored the negatives and listened to all the positives from my supportive family and friends, who could see the future in GripIt® and how much I wanted it.

The one person I would turn to, about was my Grandad. He would always to pick me back up or even give me advice on things I was unsure about. No matter what the situation, he was positive telling me how to resolve things or genuinely painting it in a different picture. I would then feel so much better about the situation.

My Grandad was a business man himself and knew how it felt when there was negativity about, he was so excited about my future with GripIt®, he just wanted me to succeed and not listen to the others putting me down.

Since then I surround myself with the correct people, they say you should surround yourself with people that:

  • Relentless Workers – this the type of person who will push you or themselves to work harder every day.
  • Positive Attitudes – when people are positive, they tend to be at their happiest. Negativity can pause the brain and drag down the work ethic.
  • People who ask questions – those who ask questions may provide a different look on an issue or idea. Those questions could lead to an important outcome for the business.
  • Dreamers – they set goals and work hard to achieve the unachievable. You should surround yourself with people who have similar goals.

I find that having the above types of people make you relax more as a CEO and you can trust them to get the job done while you’re not around. Having a positive workforce is key, they say that happy staff means better quality of work and this is completely true. In fact, two of my close friends helped and supported me from the start, they are still working at GripIt now, these are just the people I need around me.

Who you spend your time with, influences how you act. Those people are the types who lift you up, inspire and motivate you to do be you and do more. While both you and your business grows you truly find out who your friends and family are, therefore this may mean changing or losing some of them along the way, that’s just how it goes.

As an entrepreneur, you should be responsible for yourself. Surround yourself with the right type of people who can help success come to you more naturally, rather than whose who could hold you back.

The people we choose to surround ourselves with impacts the way you act, feel and think on a day to day basis. Entrepreneurial success is determined like other success.
